LinkedIn is upgrading its messaging experience with a brand-new ‘Focused Inbox,’ which aims to minimize spam and surface more appropriate messages.
The next time you login to LinkedIn and open your inbox you’ll see an alert inviting you to “Try Focused Inbox.”
Clicking the button shown above will immediately filter your messages into two tabs.
Focused Inbox utilizes AI to recognize crucial messages, which it filters into the ‘Focused’ tab while the rest are sent to the ‘Other’ tab.
Considering there’s an AI aspect included it might require time for LinkedIn to learn your inbox preferences.
You’ll have the alternative to move messages between tabs, or revert back to the standard messaging experience if you do not enjoy the Focused Inbox.
LinkedIn is making this change in uptick in direct messaging, which the business says is up 20% compared to in 2015.
In an email, a LinkedIn representative states:
“This feature is the current in a series of improvements we’ve made to help members have more productive conversations and link to chances through LinkedIn messaging. With discussions up nearly 20 percent considering that last year, we’re seeing more experts on LinkedIn are relying on messaging to link and engage with each other.”
LinkedIn’s Focused Inbox is now available worldwide to all users.
